Trauma

Guest Author – Victoria Granger

As a toddler enters childhood, then steps into adolescence, the world as they seemingly knew changes. Sometimes with major trauma occurring.

Many life choices are thrown at them prematurely before they’ve even learned how to catch.

Innocent children are facing battles of neglect, crisis, substance abuse, and much more, serious trauma.

Usually stemming from a lack of focus on mental health.

Making one bad decision causes a ripple effect, and the child’s innocence is gone, replaced by life-altering consequences and trauma.

Thousands of Children

Thousands of children, and wild mustangs, across American, are struggling to find their place in their own lives.

During that process, they are placed in traumatic circumstances where they are scared and alone.

They lose all hope of being in a happy, stable, loving, environment again.

Similar to animals placed into shelters, and slaughterhouses.

Empowering a Happy Future

The outcome of this foundation would help our next generation, of children, and animals by eliminating the fear of hopelessness and empowering a happy future.

If assembled correctly, This would be embraced by providing a temporary foster rehabilitation for both troubled youth and animals.

Those facing life-changing obstacles, and encourage a positive environment by combining animals and children to work together and create bonds and relationships to remain positive throughout hard times, to give them all the hope they deserve.

Putting an alternative end to neglected foster homes, and juvenile detention to nonviolent offenders.

Abuse Unnoticed

Where abuse and depression go unnoticed, and lack of proper guidance and attention is the main cause of troubling actions.

Animals in shelters, including dogs, and horses, are being sent to kill shelters; or worse, torturous slaughterhouses.

The goal would be to ultimately help. Help out the next generation.

The next generation of youth from falling victims to today’s society.

We do this by combining this facility with shelters. This will be beneficial to many homes and families.

First Priority Schooling

This project would of course have schooling as a first priority.

Teachers on board would follow out the district’s home-school curriculum to ensure the children are getting an adequate, standardized education as required by law.

With morals and self-respect as the building foundation.

This home will provide adequate living spaces for each individual child.

Also a caring staff on board who are passionate, and who have experience of caring and studying the behavior of young children and adolescents.

There would be caretakers accessible for children at all times.

Caretakers and Counselors

Caretakers and counselors who can provide extra care to children experiencing these tough times to assure we can suit the needs of all children while being rehabilitated at our ranch.

Hundreds of young children in foster homes, juvenile detention facilities, and some youth challenge programs are imperiled by abuse.

Abuse and neglect, along with domestic and community violence, as well as heavy poverty are very common.

These children suffer.

They struggle, and spiral into depression.

Into despair, and hopelessness, and victims to ‘today’s society’.

Some young teens cannot manage the emotional, social, and psychological challenges of adolescence and eventually engage in destructive and violent behavior.

Ignored Crisis and Dysfunction

Sadly, many states have ignored the crisis and dysfunction that creates child delinquency.

Instead, they have subjected kids to further victimization and abuse, and in the process,  causing them to end up in institutions or prisons.

There’s another benefit to moving students out of their comfort zones and into untried activities.

Children discover new interests to compete with their old behavior patterns.

As their confidence and skill level grow, so does their determination to overcome their challenges.

Homeless and No Direction

This foundation would potentially aim to put an end to children “aging out” of the system.

Which leaves most of them homeless, with no direction.

Also, end the ‘kill shelters’ across the country by providing an adequate amount of land for equine and rescue dogs.

The ultimate goal is to save the mustangs from being transported to slaughterhouses.

In addition, to give them a second chance at life.

Just as the hundreds of children in facilities who “age out.

“Big Brother – Big Sister”

Once age eighteen is met, the adolescences are given an opportunity to remain living at the facility, in exchange for a certain job on the ranch.
(Cooking and dining, cleaning stables, tutoring the younger children with homework, and being a part of a “big brother, big sister” group to ensure positivity though-out the foundation.

All in all, it would be a facility with a solid foundation of people coming together whether throughout their own tragic experience, or through their empathy and proper resources, to help save the next generation from falling victims to society, poverty, imprisonment, or institutionalization.

The Next Steps in Life

This foundation would prepare them for the next steps in life’s process, as they would be more open-minded to starting the next chapter of their lives.

This program will instill in them the confidence they need within themselves to maintain a successful future.
